Course Objectives :

  • Understanding the core and manners of Chinese tea culture

  • Learn the basic etiquette for serving tea and gift exchanges during a tea ceremony.

  • Understand the seating arrangements and toasting customs at Chinese banquets.

  • Avoid common impolite behaviors at Chinese dinner parties.

  • Improve cultural awareness and confidence in Chinese social settings.

Course Syllabus : 

1. Chinese Tea Ceremony Experience
Participants will develop an appreciation for Chinese tea culture through hands-on tea ceremony demonstrations and immersive activities. 

  • Core principles and etiquette of the Chinese tea ceremony.

  • Understand the difference between tasting and drinking.

  • Master proper gestures for serving, receiving, and returning tea. 

  • Seating arrangements and hierarchy within the ceremony

Participants will experience three carefully selected Chinese teas on-site, engaging fully with the process—observing color and aroma and savoring the flavor—creating a calming and enriching tea experience.

2.  The Culture of Chinese Dining Banquets and Modern Expectations

  • Examining the cultural principles and current practices of Chinese banquets:

  • Foundations of round table customs and seating protocols

  • Responsibilities of guests and hosts

  • Etiquette for toasting with tea and wine

  • Proper use of the spinning wheel, chopstick etiquette, and serving chopsticks

  • Common taboos and mistakes at Chinese banquets

  • Guidelines for business dining manners
